I had a great time at Gladstone Gathering Grounds serving meals and being a part of kainai wellness youth retreat. I had the oppurtunity to go to one of their sessions. I also had the oppurtunity to snow board with many of them. Mountains out here put Mountain Creek to shame. Thank God for no broken bones.
I am having trouble moving these pics around, sorry

We Did Arrive!!

Yes, we did make it to our destination on the 16th of January. We did run into blowing snow everyday from Michigan on, so that added some excitement to our visibility on the trip. On the whole the girls traveled well. They especially like the fact that they got to swim every night before going to bed. They ususally slept well after swimming for an hour in the pool, and that meant mom and dad slept well too so that we were able to stay awake while driving.

Now that we've been here for over a month we figured we would update our blog. In our defense it did take us 3 weeks to get our internet hooked up, and then a day after that was hooked up we left for a week long seminar, and were busy in class all day and then playing and feeding the girls before bedtime.

We are currently building relationships. We have gone ice fishing, and snowmobiling, but we also attend Awana, Bible Study, and go to Youth Group, because all the attendees are Native. Roy has been out around town, and goes to a deli on the Reserve just to meet people. He usually has a good time doing that, and spends a couple hours there. Karina just starte kindergarten at the local elementary school. She was not enjoying her time in the homeschool setting and was missing having friends her age to be around so now she sees them 5 days a week for half the day. Her spirits are up now and she loves school. She's doing well and comes home full of stories to tell. Eden is also enjoying Karina's time at school. She now can play with toys the way she wants to without someone telling her how to play with them. Eden was also able to attend a class at the library that included a story, songs, craft and snack. She wishes she could go every day but for now it's just one day a week.

Laura has been able to have a native friend over for coffee and lunch this past week, and hopes to continue to build that relationship.

We continue to be amazed at how God has brought here and what we are doing. We truly are blessed to be here and to have you all praying for us.
