No Heat Today

For all my friends on the east coast who are experiencing the heat, I just wanted to share what we are experiencing. We could be getting another 8 or so inches before it stops.
Saturday they are calling for around 60 degrees.
God bless you all.

to have but she gave up
this is a small sample

of what she took.
I think we are getting family pictures next week.

I have spent some time building relationships through snowmobiling.
Every time I upload a picture it mess' up the whole text and placement. Sorry, I am posting it anyway, Cause I got to go. Someones Bulls are killing calves in the pasture and we have to move the bulls out.

I had a great time at Gladstone Gathering Grounds serving meals and being a part of kainai wellness youth retreat. I had the oppurtunity to go to one of their sessions. I also had the oppurtunity to snow board with many of them. Mountains out here put Mountain Creek to shame. Thank God for no broken bones.
I am having trouble moving these pics around, sorry

We Did Arrive!!

Yes, we did make it to our destination on the 16th of January. We did run into blowing snow everyday from Michigan on, so that added some excitement to our visibility on the trip. On the whole the girls traveled well. They especially like the fact that they got to swim every night before going to bed. They ususally slept well after swimming for an hour in the pool, and that meant mom and dad slept well too so that we were able to stay awake while driving.

Now that we've been here for over a month we figured we would update our blog. In our defense it did take us 3 weeks to get our internet hooked up, and then a day after that was hooked up we left for a week long seminar, and were busy in class all day and then playing and feeding the girls before bedtime.

We are currently building relationships. We have gone ice fishing, and snowmobiling, but we also attend Awana, Bible Study, and go to Youth Group, because all the attendees are Native. Roy has been out around town, and goes to a deli on the Reserve just to meet people. He usually has a good time doing that, and spends a couple hours there. Karina just starte kindergarten at the local elementary school. She was not enjoying her time in the homeschool setting and was missing having friends her age to be around so now she sees them 5 days a week for half the day. Her spirits are up now and she loves school. She's doing well and comes home full of stories to tell. Eden is also enjoying Karina's time at school. She now can play with toys the way she wants to without someone telling her how to play with them. Eden was also able to attend a class at the library that included a story, songs, craft and snack. She wishes she could go every day but for now it's just one day a week.

Laura has been able to have a native friend over for coffee and lunch this past week, and hopes to continue to build that relationship.

We continue to be amazed at how God has brought here and what we are doing. We truly are blessed to be here and to have you all praying for us.

Chicagoland!

We have made it to Chicago despite some lake effect snow falling yesterday. We enjoyed a day shoveling snow today and visiting family. The girls are having a great time playing with cousins and getting spoiled by their aunt and uncle. We hope to depart on Monday morning and are praying for clear weather. So far the forecast is for sunny skies. We hope to arrive at our destination later in the week, but will wait out any storm that may come our way before we try to travel through it all.

The trek from NJ to MI was slow!! I never thought I would use my hazards as much as I did. The van was getting fantastic gas mileage...the best I have ever gotten on the highway especially with the van being as loaded as it is.

We have seen some great wildlife. The girls enjoy seeing animals of all kinds wherever we go. Thanks for all your prayers. We know you're praying because we've made it this far without any incident.

We are visiting a few supporters and family in the mid-west on our way through. We wish we could stop and visit with all of you, we hope to touch base with the rest of you on another trip.

We hope to keep you posted as we travel. We're praying nothing too exciting happens along the way! Thank you for your prayers, and please don't stop!!

Cardston Bound

Cardston Bound

Dear Friends and Family,

Thank-you for all your encouragement over the last bit. We are happy to inform you that if we find a home to stay in, we are heading to Cardston in beginning of January.

I cannot tell you how excited we are about this, as I am sure you are too. With this new step in our journey approaching quickly we realize how much has to be done in order to get across the border.

The girls are excited about Christmas coming and so are we. We pray that as we, and I'm sure most of you, get involved in the many festivities surrounding the holidays we wouldn't forget who we are celebrating. We pass a giant santa blow-up figure in our travels around here and Karina and Eden are just fascinated with how big it is. It also gives us the opportunity to discuss the real reason why we celebrate Christmas, and why we give presents to those we love. They continue to absorb things like sponges and we are trying to utilize that ability for memorizing scripture and the truths of God's Word. We pray you all have a blessed Christmas this year.

We also ask you to please continue to pray for us as we finish our packing and prepare to leave. Please continue to pray for native people on the Blood Reserve, that they will hear the Truth and the Truth will set them free.
